The History of New Life ConnectPoint

New Life was born out of a burden of our founding pastor to open a church welcoming ALL people regardless of their previous religious affiliation, socio-economic status, gender, race, orientation, biblical knowledge or any other situation.

Pastor Randy Duncan spent over 30 years in the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. He fulfilled many roles during those years including musician, singer, Sunday School Teacher, Minister of Music, Administrator and Principal of Christian Schools, Assistant Pastor and Senior Pastor---mainly in United Pentecostal Churches.

In 1996, Pastor Randy was introduced to people who had struggled similarly as he had with his orientation. Having been taught that the Bible and God were absolutely against homosexuality, he knew the struggle that a born again Christian dealt with while trying to accomodate the church and it's teachings while dealing with the fact that you just couldn't pray the gay away. His bouts with depression, feelings of worthlessness and despair could have led him to self-destruct had the church not also taught against that as well. That probably saved his life! The difference between the people that God had put into his life was that they had "reconciled" their same-sex attractions with the Bible and with God. Though skeptical and fearful of deception, Pastor Randy listened and prayed about the new things he was hearing and experiencing through people that he could tell loved the Lord with their whole hearts.
